Trustees of the Chazy
Public Library

Roll Call and
Introductions: The meeting was
called to order at 5:30pm by George Brendler (President). Present were
Trustees: George Brendler, Debby Powers,
Jill Beeman, and Tammy Braun. Absent
was Kristen McAuliffe . Also, attending
were Frances Fairchild (Director) and Rae McAuliffe (FOL).
Public Forum
Friends of the
Library report: Friends of the Library held
its annual membership meeting on May 7
at the library at 6pm. There was a guest speaker, Ellen Adams, curator of the
Alice T. Miner Museum. A slate of officers was created. Debby is doing the
Maps for the annual yard sale in July. They plan to have a
table at Old Homes Day.
At this time they have decided to take a year off from the
book sale.
Review of minutes for
April 29, 2015:
Motion made by Tammy to accept the minutes, seconded by Debby, motion
passed.
Treasurer's Report:
Checking acct balance as of April 30, 2015 is $70,552.76
Motion made to
accept Treasurer's report by Tammy, seconded by Jill, motion passed.
We have received $5000 from the Jean Marleau estate, the
money will be deposited into
the Raymond James account.
Director' Report:
Focus groups are needed for the Early Literacy Community Asset
Analysis, Francie will try to meet with Kristen and Tammy.
The community room has several activities scheduled in the
coming month.
Francie is going to contact Tom Tetreault about the Summer
Reading Camp,
She is also trying to get the teacher’s summer reading lists
from school. We have
Summer volunteers to help with shelving of books.
Director is taking a week (25 hrs) vacation in June.
Correspondence:
Debby sent a Thank You card to Beeman Trucking for moving
rocks to parking lot
To form a retaining wall.

Sweet Adelines, Aug 6, 6pm. Rain date Aug 7.($200)
Policies- Dave
Kimmel will update policies on our website.
Public Relations - Debby will create a Summer calendar to give to
elementary students to take home at the end of the school year.
Property Maintenance – George is looking at
plant/tree options for rock

Resolution to override tax levy limit for 2015-2016 budget fiscal
Year, made by Jill. Seconded by Debby. Motion passed.
Yearly Organizational
items:
Proposition to raise by tax levy $37,500 to support the
Chazy Public Library
Passed 350 to 206 votes.
Debby Powers elected as trustee with 395 votes.

With members of the following committees: Collection
development, Policies, Public Relations/Programs to remain the same.
Secretary casts one vote to accept.
Motion made by
Jill, seconded by Tammy to accept calendar of meeting dates. Motion passed.
Tammy Braun resigned her position as a trustee for
personal/family reasons effective May 20.
Meeting was adjourned at 6:35pm.
