MEETING
November 20, 2013
Trustees of the Chazy Public Library
Roll call and
Introductions:
The meeting was called to order at 5:05p.m. by George Brendler.
Present were Trustees;, Debby Powers, Kristen McAuliffe, Jim Meehan
Also present was Library Director Francie Fairchild and Friends of
the Library (FOL) members; Rae McAuliffe and Emily Castine were
attending.
Public Forum.
As regards the Friend’s
of the Library: Rae McAuliffe reviewed the FOL the Chirstmas Tea
schduled for Dec 8, 2013 and the Christmas Ride scheduled for Dec.
13, 2013. On Dec. 4 there will be CCRS students that will help
decorate the Public Library for the Christmas season.
Review of minutes
of Oct 30 , 2013:
Deb Powers moved to accept the minutes as amended, second by Trustee
Kristin McAuliffe. Motion passed.
Treasurer's Report:
Checking acct. balance Sept. 30, 2013 was - $44080.85; Oct. 30, 2013
was - $41654.97. Motion by Jim Meehan to accept the treasurer’s
report as presented, Second by Trustee Kristin McAuliffe. Motion
passed.
Director's Report

Director’s Monthly
Report was partial. Items will be added for the complete report.
Director has not yet completed the log of daily/weekly activities
which would be used in the director's absence Action:
Director will submit comlete report (pending), log (pending).
Correspondence

Unfinished
business
Book signings – Glen
Persol is expected to have a book signing in the spring at the Chazy
Library. Details are being pursued.
The cleaning staff are
performing satisfactorily.
There will be a ACA
presentation by Jill Rock Dec 5, 2013.
Kristin McAuliffe will be
sending out notice of the book for Common CORE efforts of CCRS.
Target date if mid February. More details will be provided at January
Library meeting.
New
business
The board agreed to
decorating the gazebo for Christmas. It will nicely increase the
visibility of the Library to the public and be in the spirit of the
season. Friends of the Library members may have a spare Christmas
tree that can be donated to the effort. Rae McAuliffe will check
with the organization members.
Purchase of new carpet
runners was discussed and agreement was reached that Tina Trombly and
Deb Powers in conjunction with the Director and decide specifics of
color and placement.
Committee Reports
Collection Development
–Emily Castine presented a several titles of recent purchases
demonstarting quality of our collection with titles that should be
very applicable and valuble to our community.
Policy
– webinar for new board members is archived, available to members
who are urged to view it.
Public Relations – Our
library Facebook site is active with 150 – 200 viewer as an
aproxiation for activity.
Legal Affairs – No
report
Garden Committee –
No report
Maintenance- No report
Fund Raising – Deb
Power reported that the Christmas Season fund drive letter have bent
sent.
Family
programs - Kristin McAuliffe is working towards organizing early
child intervention programs for the spring time period.
