MINUTES OF THE SEPTEMBER 23RD TRUSTEES MEETING

MINUTES OF THE MEETING (Accepted)
September 23, 2015

Trustees of the Chazy Public Library

Roll Call and Introductions:  The meeting was called to order at 5:31pm by George Brendler (President). Present were Trustees: George Brendler, Debby Powers, Jill Beeman,   Kristen McAuliffe and Terry Tregan.  Also, attending were Frances Fairchild (Director) and Rae McAuliffe (FOL).

A new picture of the board was taken with new trustee Terry Tregan.

Public Forum
 Friends of the Library Report:
 FOL held a meeting on September 22. At this time they have decided not to hold
 their Annual Christmas Tea. They are planning on holding a wagon ride in November,
 and will be hosting the National Honor Society tea.

Review of minutes for July 22, 2015:
Motion made by Terry to accept the minutes, seconded by Debby, motion passed.

Treasurer's Report:
Checking acct balance as of July 31, 2015 is $61,812.31.
Checking acct balance as of August 31, 2015 is $58029.92.
Motion made to accept Treasurer's report by Jill, seconded by Kristen, motion passed.

Director' Report:
Activities ongoing.
Free passes to the Wild Center were used by 19 families. Discount pass to ECHO in Burlington were used by 3 families. Debby and Francie will be attending a workshop in
October for a new way to request MACR records for bar-coding.
The quilters group that uses the Community room on Thursdays donated a quilt to the library for us to raffle off. Debby will look into getting tickets printed.

Still no action on the Early Literacy Asset Analysis, Kristen and Terry will be looking into this.

$2500 will be received from the Betty Little grant.

George will talk to the neighbors about their cars being in our parking lot when events are scheduled in the Community Room.

Correspondence:
Jill will send Stewarts a Thank you note for donating ice cream to our social in August.
Debby sent a sympathy card to Sonya Clark.
George signed the CEFLS contract for Horizon services.

Committee Reports:
Collections - Ongoing.

Policies
Director’s pay schedule was reviewed and the board decided not to make any changes at this time.

Public Relations/Programs -    
Email list for publicity is done, just needs some weeding out of duplicate names.
Story times for the Fall have been assigned.
Hopefully children’s yoga will start up in October.

Property Maintenance
Some minor repairs that need to be done. We will check with the school’s Key Club and
National Honor Society to see if they are interested in tackling any of these as a Community Service Project.

Old Business: 
Trustee’s book sale took in $151.
Will be purchasing all-in-one computer for staff use for $600-700.
George took 20 boxes of used books to Schroon Lake library for their book sale.

New Business:
Francie will be back to full time evenings and Karen will fill in as substitute in an emergency.
We need to look for a maintenance person for yard and other work.
Kristen will be contacting the school Library Club and Key Club to see if they can
Donate some time to the library.
The LTA Trustee Institute will be held in Plattsburgh May 6 and 7, 2016.

Meeting was adjourned at 6:30pm.
Next meeting, October 28 at 5:30 .
