Trustees of the Chazy
Public Library

Roll Call and
Introductions: The meeting was
called to order at 5:30pm by George Brendler (President). Present were
Trustees: George Brendler, Debby Powers,
Jill Beeman and Tammy Braun. Kristen McAuliffe was excused. Also attending were Frances Fairchild
(Director) and Rae McAuliffe (FOL).
Public Forum
Friends of Library
report: Fall wagon ride was a success.
Christmas Tea is scheduled for
Sunday, December 7th,
11-2 with families invited to bring Gingerbread Houses for display. Ann Lorenzini will dedicate her painting at
1pm. Francie will contact Rob Fountain for publicity.
Debby, Francie, George and Emily attended luncheon at Lake Forest. George attended advocacy workshop.
Review of minutes for
October 30, 2014:
Debby Powers moved to accept minutes, seconded by George.
Treasurer's Report:
Checking acct balance as of October 31, 2014 is $ 47,190.635
Motion to accept Treasurer's report by Jill Beeman, seconded
by George Brendler
Director' Report:
Changing hours of operation was discussed. At this time the
board feels Francie
should just leave a
note on the door if she has to run local errands.
Community service worker is working out well. Francie has
her doing cleaning
and shelving books.
The Pilot Program for Early Literacy Survey seems to be more
than we can handle at
this time. Francie was encouraged to see if we can opt out
of participating.
Correspondence:
Thank you needs to be
sent to Woodman for the new flag.
Invites to Francie
and Emily for the painting dedication will be sent out.
Committee Reports
Collections -
Programs - Looking into book signings for Spring.
Nan Hoffman has been scheduled for July 15th for reading
program.
Policy -
Public Relations - Getting info out for December Tea and
Dedication.
Property Maintenance - Dehumidifier has been disposed
of. It was causing breaker
to kick off. Will replace
with a new one for about $250.
Old Business:
Self evaluation sheets were filled out and filed.
New Business:
Betsy has been contacted to order 2 new all-in-one computers
to be purchased
by funds from Friends of the Library.
George will purchase 2 wreaths to decorate the outside of
the library.
He will also put up the tree in the gazebo.
A motion was made by George to change meeting dates to
Wednesdays at 5:30pm.
Motion was seconded by Jill, motion passed.
Meeting was adjourned at 6:55pm.

January 21, 2015 !!
